Stewardship Prayer

Lord God, You alone are the source of every good gift, of the vast array of our universe, and the mystery of each human life. We praise You and we thank You for your great power and your tender, faithful love. Everything we are and everything we have is your gift. After having created us, You have given us into the keeping of your Son, Jesus Christ. Fill our minds with His truth and our hearts with His love, that in His Spirit we may be bonded together in a community of faith, a parish family, a caring people.

In the Name and Spirit of Jesus, we commit ourselves to be good stewards of the gifts entrusted to us, to share our time, our talent, and our material gifts as an outward sign of the treasure we hold in Jesus. Amen.

Kansas Rosary Crusade

An invitation from Bishop Vinke: “Our Blessed Mother gave life to the One who is our Life. She is our loving Mother who desires to help us in our needs. As the bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Salina, I would like to extend an invitation to all of our parishioners to join me in a special statewide rosary crusade every Thursday to help us pass a human life amendment to the Kansas Constitution. This amendment will reverse the Kansas Supreme Court’s decision to grant a constitutional right to abortion. I believe that our prayers have the power to change the hearts of our legislators and with the help of the Blessed Mother, we will be able to overturn this ruling. I thank you for your willingness to participate and I encourage you to join me in praying for an end to abortion and respect for all life from conception to natural death.” To join the Rosary Crusade visit kansasrosarycrusade.org/.

Human Trafficking Alert for the Month of March:

“Despite the great efforts of many, modern slavery continues to be an atrocious scourge that is present throughout the world on a broad scale” (Pope Francis).  Let us work together to end it.” US Catholic Sisters Against Human Trafficking www.sistersagainsttrafficking.org.

PRAYER CHAIN REORGANIZATION

A prayer chain provides spiritual support and healing for parishioners, family and friends.  When someone is placed on the prayer chain the individual is included in the daily prayers of the prayer chain members.

The leaders of the prayer chains will receive the request for prayers from the rectory or individuals.  The leaders will call the next member in the chain to pass on the prayer request.  That person will then call the next person on the list and so on.

Our current prayer chain list of volunteers is very outdated and needs to be current with new and present volunteers.

If you are interested in becoming a prayer warrior on the prayer chain, please complete the form and place it in the collection basket or mail to the rectory (PO Box 148, Norton, KS 67654). *Forms are available at the church vestibule.*            Thank you for your assistance with this ministry at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.

St. Francis Society Meeting – Thursday, April 2, 2020.

St. Joseph Prayer

Oh St. Joseph, whose protection is so great, so strong, so prompt before the throne of God, I place in you all my interests and desires.

Oh St. Joseph, do assist me by your powerful intercession and obtain for me from your divine son all spiritual blessings through Jesus Christ, our Lord; so that having engaged here below your heavenly power, I may offer my thanksgiving and homage to the most loving of Fathers.

Oh St. Joseph, I never weary contemplating you and Jesus asleep in your arms. I dare not approach while he reposes near your heart. Press Him in my name and kiss his fine head for me, and ask him to return the kiss when I draw my dying breath. St. Joseph, patron of departing souls, pray for us. Amen
